Samsung Galaxy A22 5G Vs Galaxy A23 5G: The Price

Never as in this case, the situation is reversed if you look at the list price or if you look at the market price. Let’s look at the numbers to understand each other.

  1. Galaxy A22 5G has arrived in Italy with a list price of 229 euros for the version with 64 GB of internal memory. This version is now available for around 170 euros (market price). At the same time, about 260 euros (market price) are needed for the version with 128 GB of storage.
  2. Galaxy A23 5G, on the other hand, has a higher list price: 309.90 euros for the version with 64 GB of internal memory and 349.90 euros for the version with 128 GB of storage. The market price, however, brings them down to around 190 euros and about 210 euros, respectively.

This means that the Galaxy A22 5G wins if we look at the list price, but the victory, in the end, goes to the Galaxy A23 5G, thanks to the market price, which makes it much more enjoyable.

Galaxy A22 5G Vs Galaxy A23 5G: The Differences

The differences between Galaxy A22 5G and Galaxy A23 5G are not a few. On the contrary. It starts from the design of the back, which – on the latest arrival – varies in the shape of the photographic module, adapting to the design line of the rest of the models in the Galaxy A series

For the rest, the design remains almost unchanged by proposing the same drop notch and polycarbonate finish of the predecessor. Both smartphones feature an optical fingerprint sensor on the side, a 3.5mm headphone port (the audio jack) and an audio setup consisting of a single speaker next to the charging port based on the standard USB Type-C.

On-Screen, The Difference Is The Refresh Rate

Galaxy A22 5G and Galaxy A23 5G are equipped with a 6.6-inch IPS LCD screen with Full-HD + resolution, but the refresh rate on the former stops at 90 Hertz while on the Galaxy A23, it reaches 120 Hertz. A difference that ensures greater fluidity when viewing content on the screen, especially in the gaming field.

However, the visual quality is the same, with nice colors and brightness. From this point of view, the one that can do better is the 4G version of the Galaxy A22 equipped with an AMOLED screen. Moving on to the hardware platform, we face the eternal struggle between MediaTek and Qualcomm.

On Galaxy A22 5G, we find the MediaTek Dimension 700 processor, while Galaxy A23 5G prefers a Snapdragon 695 5G processor. The performances during daily use are similar, with some points favoring the Qualcomm platform, often preferable to others. The software part also changes, more updated on the latest arrival.

There is Android 12 on Galaxy A23, while Galaxy A22 arrived with the previous version of Android 11 on board. From this point of view, the A23 should update for more time. As for connectivity, there are no significant changes except the update of the Bluetooth version from 5.0 to 5.1. The photographic sector is also updated:

  1. Galaxy A22 5G features three rear cameras: a 48 MP primary sensor, a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor and a 2 MP depth sensor.
  2. Galaxy A23 5G, on the other hand, mounts four rear cameras: a 50 MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization, a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, a 2 MP depth sensor and a 2 MP macro sensor.

Beyond the more significant number of cameras (of little use, among other things), the primary sensor represents the absolute novelty and difference, which gains more excellent resolution and optical stabilization (OIS), thus allowing you to have video more stabilized.

Finally, the battery has the same capacity but the charging speed changes. Both integrate a 5,000 mAh battery that can be recharged at a maximum speed of 15 watts on the Galaxy A22 5G, while it goes up to 25 watts for the Galaxy A23 5G.

Galaxy A22 5G Vs Galaxy A23 5G: Which One To Buy?

The Galaxy A23 5G improvements are there, but they only justify the price differences if the list prices are considered. However, we have seen how market prices have entirely reversed the situation, making the Galaxy A23 5G the preferred model. It is often sold for less by providing updated software, a more powerful processor and an improved primary camera.

In this price range, however, there is a lot of competition, and you might consider buying other models, including the 4G version of the Galaxy A22, which can count on a better screen. Without forgetting, the Xiaomi and OPPO proposals that dominate below 300 euros.
